More reports in the press have once again highlighted that many jobs have been lost. In April alone Sony confirmed earlier media reports that it will cut around 10,000 jobs, which equates to approximately 6% of its global workforce.

In addition, the number of high street stores going bust has rocketed by 64% compared with the previous quarter, new figures have revealed. Five household names that went into administration in the first three months of 2012 resulted in 10,000 job losses, according to business analysts Deloitte. – As reported in the Daily Mirror on 9th April 2012.
